Jewellery care

Our rings are real 925 silver with no plating. We do not use rhodium or platinum. Silver is durable, but it reacts to what it touches. A little care keeps it looking right for years.

1. Keep it away from chemicals

Take your ring off before washing up, cleaning or hand-washing clothes, and before any work with detergents, bleach or other strong chemicals.

Avoid direct contact with perfume, deodorant, hairspray, creams and lotions. Put your ring on last, once everything has been absorbed.

2. Water and exercise

Take it off before a shower or bath, a sauna or hot tub, swimming in a pool (chlorine) and swimming in the sea (salt). Take it off for hard exercise too: sweat, heat and moisture speed up surface changes, and knocks can scratch or bend the band.

3. Natural darkening

Silver without plating darkens over time. This is patina, a reaction mainly with sulphur compounds in the air, sped up by humidity, cosmetics and sweat. It does not mean the silver has lost its fineness, and it is not a fault.

4. Cleaning

Use a soft, dry silver cloth and light pressure. For heavier dirt, use lukewarm water with a little mild soap, rinse, dry with a soft cloth and make sure the ring is completely dry before you put it away.

Do not use rough sponges or brushes, abrasive powders or pastes, toothpaste or home remedies, chemical dips, ultrasonic cleaners or heavy polishing. They can scratch the surface or damage the engraving.

5. Storage

Keep your ring dry and out of the light, ideally in its box or a sealed pouch, apart from other pieces. Do not leave it in the bathroom.

Silver does not have to stay the same to be exceptional. Wear it on your own terms.
